Bid Change Schedules are a great way to increase ROI by upping the ante or scaling back on ads during certain days throughout the week. In this article, we'll cover how to set up a scheduled bid change in AdStage.

How Does it Work?

Setting up a bid change schedule in AdStage is an easy way to save time and money. Simply input the day(s) of the week for which you want the bid change to apply, then input the change you'd like to take place. You will have the option to receive an email detailing the results of your scheduled bid change each time it runs.

What are some common ways to change bids on a scheduled basis?

  1. Adjust bids based on competition: Notice that there are fewer competitive ads on the weekends? Set a schedule to decrease your keyword bids on Saturdays and Sundays to increase ROI.

  2. Adjust bids based on traffic: Does your site get more traffic toward the middle of the week rather than the Mondays or Fridays? Schedule a bid increase Tuesday-Thursday to capitalize on the time of the week when potential customers are searching for you most often.

How do I set up a Bid Change Schedule?

Step 1: Log in to AdStage and go to the Automate tab.

Step 2: Click Create Schedule

Step 3: Select the level where the bids live (i.e Keywords for AdWords, Ad Sets for Facebook.)

Step 4: Select the Network(s) and then also choose the entity level for the Schedule (i.e Keywords for AdWords, Ad Sets for Facebook.)

Step 5: (Optional) add an "if" condition (ex: campaign name contains "brand").

Step 6: Select Increase Keyword Bid or Decrease Keyword Bid. Next, select the amount you would like to increase or decrease the bids. You can use a static value a percent. *Optional* Enter a Max (Increase schedule) or Min (Decrease schedule) bid value. For this, we will only increase or decrease the bid up to the number and will not go above or below.

Step 7: Schedule your task: Select start date, end date (optional), and time zone.

Step 8: Finish & Apply. Enter email recipients (your email will be defaulted). Next, select notification functionality.

Step 9: Click Preview or Launch to save the schedule.
